World Bank in Morocco

The World Bank Group’s involvement in Morocco mainly involves funding infrastructure building, such as road, transport and water sanitation system, other focus would be health sector, youth development, renewable energy, government framework and supporting small-medium business(SMEs). There are 27 ongoing projects including 3 new projects on 2017.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a component of the World Bank Group, has helped Morocco on building infrastructure in agricultural sector and constructing a public-private partnership (PPP). Bringing Private companies to invest on the rural and urban areas, mainly focus on water supply. They plan on building irrigation plant that can provide 60 to 85 million cubic meters capacity of irrigation in Chtouka area.

In 2014, the Country Partnership Framework (CPF) aim to further improve Morocco’s government to civil, as well as private sector. Over the past four years, lending from IBRD dramatically increase from US$600 million a year to US$1 billion. It recently ended
