Remove Myllokunmingia and Palaeospondylus from the taxonomy bar on the animal page. They are both under craniates, so listing them is not necessary. 2601:58C:C480:CC7:F85D:66C3:660E:D112 (talk) 00:39, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: this is the talk page for discussing improvements to the template {{Taxonomy/Animalia}}. Please make your request at the talk page for the article concerned. Talk:Animal is the page you need. Cabayi (talk) 05:37, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please change parent to "Apoikozoa" instead of filozoa Jmv2009 (talk) 11:49, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. Any change to a widely (150000 page) taxonomy you'd want to raise it at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tree_of_Life or some other reasonable talk page and get a consensus that the change is correct Galobtter (pingó mió) 12:42, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Peter coxhead can you fix this too, pls? Jmv2009 (talk) 16:17, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmv2009: Adl et al. (2018) reject this name; see doi:10.1111/jeu.12691. Their updated classifications are usually widely accepted. Peter coxhead (talk) 17:52, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Peter coxhead: Thanks, so its "Choanozoa", according to the article? Shall we do that then? I redefined Choanozoa...
@Jmv2009: I'd like to look at the article in more depth when I have time, but I am inclined to go with its system. (Check the cladogram at Choanozoa; Choanozoa s.s. can't logically have Choanozoa as a subclade.) Peter coxhead (talk) 19:40, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Peter coxhead: Right now it's a placeholder at choanozoa. Would you be able to move the apoikozoa article to it?
@Peter coxhead: looks great. Can you put choanozoa then as parent now?
See my post at Talk:Opisthokont#Clade names and articles. I would much prefer to treat Animalia/Metazoa as having the parent Holozoa, which can be better sourced to Adl et al. (2018). Peter coxhead (talk) 11:22, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

change Animalia to insect- it is false science, giving people a false perception, incorrect and deceptive to label ANY parasite arachnoid insects in the Animalia kingdom, this includes all insects and fungi 75.97.190.209 (talk) 06:32, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Change the parent of Animalia to Choanozoa. Choanoflagellates are widely considered to be the closest relatives of Animals and form the aforementioned group. ZKevinTheCat (talk) 09:52, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I understand what a "consensus" is in this context. I read the help page and I think I understand, but I just don't know how it would apply here. Do I need other people to support my request? Should I provide citations for my requesty? Both? Please explain. ZKevinTheCat (talk) 03:05, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
