I changed the logo here to a larger, slightly more professional one. The old logo was meant to be displayed as part of the WGN Radio site's design on a blue background. The text was slanted and difficult to read. This one is all straight and, as I said, a bit more professional.Tflynn17 15:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

HD Radio

WGN-AM does not carry HD Radio (I have one in my car). Also they are not listed on the HD Radio site as broadcasting HD Radio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.132.233.78 (talk) 04:13, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

The other WGN

Radio station WAAF, owned by the Daily Drover's Journal,[1] was acquired by the Trib in 1924 with a callsign change to WGN. [2] The article presently mentions WDAP with no mention of the earlier WAAF => WGN. In other words, WDAP's gear was simply absorbed into an already existing WGN. Might be worthwhile adding. (Chicago was already weird because it had a city-owned station ... WBU.) Twang (talk) 01:56, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Citation cleanup

References have been added to the article using a variety of different formats. Although there is no one preferred style on Wikipedia, WP:CITESTYLE does say that the style should be consistent. Furthermore, WP:CITEVAR says that editors should defer to the style used by the first significant contributor or the style used by most editors, unless there is a consensus to change. The first time reference tags were used seems to be in this edit ; The style used in that edit is a fairly basic style and it wouldn't be hard to reformat all the other references to match it. I personally prefer using citation templates since it makes it a little easier to fill in all the reference parameters. The same information contained in the templates, however, can be added using the non-template style; it's just has to be formatted manually. I don't mind going through a cleaning up the references. Plus, if there's a consensus to do so per WP:CITECONSENSUS, then the references could easily switched over to templates as needed. Finally, per MOS:DATEUNIFY the date format used for all citations should also be consistent. Currently, there are three styles being used: all numerical (i.e., YYYY-MM-DD), US style (Month Day, Year) and UK style (Day Month Year). Since this article is about an American radio station, I think we should use either all numerical or the US style per MOS:TIES. Either is fine, but the all numerical format was the one used by the first significant contributor. Any comments or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. - Marchjuly (talk) 01:05, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

WGN seems to have a newer logo than the one in this page's infobox. If there is someone knowledgeable about how to change it, it would be nice to see it.Rudy2alan 23:57, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on WGN (AM). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).
