Last intact?
Even though several websites claim that the Vanity ballroom is the last intact dance hall fro the 1930s through 50s, I have to question their reasoning: what about the Grande Ballroom? Both are in Detroit, were built within one year of each other, are still standing, and were never significantly redecorated or remodeled/subdivided for another use. Sure the Grande is in overall worse shape than the Vanity, but the Vanity has severe deterioration in sections also. Basically the title "intact" just comes down to a matter of opinion regarding the state of deterioration. For that reason, I added a qualifier about the Grande Ballroom in the lead section.
