As I recall this type of vehicle is called fancraft (after fan used for propulsion, just like in turbofan engines). Cel 84 (talk) 06:55, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
First flight in 2009?
The infobox says that the first flight of a prototype was in 2009. I can't find any reference that indicates this thing ever flew. A first flight would have been big news. There have been static displays [1] and dramatic computer animations [2] but did it even get built? --John Nagle (talk) 19:09, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
- Apparently it didn't get built. They did build a medium-sized UAV, the "AirMule" with roughly the same two-fan arrangement.[3]. It hovers in ground effect. They also built an even smaller model about a meter long, the "Panda", that can actually fly out of ground effect. --John Nagle (talk) 06:38, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
