This sub is the subject of Douglas C. Waller's book "Big Red: three months on board a Trident nuclear submarine" ISBN 0060194847

Why was SSBN-738 ordered four years before SSBN-739?

Nebraska in space

This submarine gets converted into the hyperspace capable starship "Alliance Space Ship Vorpal Blade" in John Ringo's Voyage of_the Space Bubble book series.
