Anti-Slavery Operations 1839-40
In spite of other wikipedia articles suggesting the American efforts to suppress the Slave Trade were largely ineffectual, the Dolphin had an extremely successful cruise in 1839-40 off the African coast, sending 10 ships to the Mixed Courts at Sierra Leone. Maybe it depended on the zealousness of the commander of the vessel.
