- Might be interesting to add info about how a natural scientist evaluated Poe's book, and placed it in the context of the science of the times. I read the Gould essay about 15 years ago, and don't have any bibliographic info on it... AnonMoos (talk) 08:50, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, that makes more sense. I didn't know who Gould was so I just assumed it was someone just making a brief mention of it. If we find a copy of it, it might make for a good start for a critical response section or something. --Midnightdreary (talk) 15:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

- From Googling, seems to have been republished in Dinosaur in a Haystack ("Poe's Greatest Hit")... AnonMoos (talk) 11:55, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Tone
Recent additions by an IP not logged in have threatened the neutrality of this article. Phrases like "Poe was one of the most important editors at the time" are a clear violation. Later, in the article, the assessment that "there is no controversy" and that attacks were merely "libel", etc. are also POV and possibly original research. Citations should be added or all this stuff is subject to removal. --Midnightdreary (talk) 22:22, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
