An ancestor of mine who migrated from Steep to Nottingham in the 1870s is recorded in the 1881 census as coming from Stup. Thank you so much for the review Sainsf! I think I've got everything. I made this article as comprehensive as possible, but it's hard to do so with only a handful of sources. I was lucky enough to find what sources I could anyway, as information on these places are scarce. I wish I could have found better photos on the internet, the scenery is stunning.
