Assessment
The lead section needs to summarize the entire article. It's rather weak in that respect currently and is the only issue holding the article up from a B-class rating. --Brad (talk) 18:22, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Design and Dev. Clarification
The first sentence reads British and American recognized from the beginning that. There seems to be a noun missing. I'd add Captains, Entrepreneurs, or Shipping Companies, but I really don't know what the original author intended. Glitch
"Britannia Class, which was also commissioned in 1840." Which was the ship commissioned in 1840? Made a stab at it, but please vet my edit. Thank you.--Wetman (talk) 02:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
