The word is Punkha, not Punkah

The words ending with 'ah' are generally of Mesopotamean (Arbic, Iraq, Iran) Origin, and not Indian. The word Punkha originated from Pankh. Please refer to a good Hindustani Dictionary. Bkpsusmitaa (talk) 12:42, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In Hindi, the word is indeed पङ्खा paṅkhā, but in English, whether we like it or not, the most common spelling is punkah, not punkha. Sorry 'bout it. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 12:22, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling?

"The word pankha originated from pankh, the wings of a bird which produce a draft when flapped." Yet everywhere else the article calls the fan a "punkha." The link, on the other hand, initially also uses the "a" spelling in its article. Both spellings yield definitions of the fan when doing a Google search -- but shouldn't you at least point out both spellings exist? It does seem the "pun" is the preferred spelling.
