Feedback from New Page Review process
I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Good start, but you should rewrite some phrases taken from the sources as they might be too close for copyright reasons!

- ... that Parengyodontium album is only one of four known species of marine fungi that is capable of degrading plastics? Source: https://www.nioz.nl/en/news/fungus-breaks-down-ocean-plastic
- ALT1: ... that the marine fungal species Parengyodontium album only breaks down polyethylene plastics that has been exposed to UV light?

Approving both hooks. Article is long enough and created 2 days before DYK nomination. Article is presentable, sourced, and copyvio-free. Both hooks are interesting and well-sourced. QPQ not needed. Good to go overall. Thank you Classicwiki and Chiffre01. Kimikel (talk) 19:03, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
onidiophoresconidiophores
Should this be just conidiophores?
The word onidiophoresconidiophores is junk. Polypipe Wrangler (talk) 03:52, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Reproduction: dry conditions
It says:
"It reproduces through dry, hydrophobic conditions, ..."
Yet apparently we're discussing a fungus that can feed off plastic in the ocean, where obviously it's wet all the time. Maybe in this case the word "through" is meant to indicate that the fungus normally reproduces in damp or wet conditions but will also reproduce under very dry conditions if necessary? I think this little part of the article needs clearer wording. TooManyFingers (talk) 15:26, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
