Quite simply if you have a {{cite}} in the bibliography- add the field |ref=harv| to it, and then it will be the target. Everywhere you need a ref you use {{sfn|name|year|p = page}} and it will link through.
There is a sister template {{efn}} that can be used for an extended footnote- you use a {{notelist}} to display it.ClemRutter (talk) 18:54, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
