Demon slayer's saled needs to be updated and add 2022 and 2023 saled, its over 161 millions now 5.212.131.230 (talk) 13:36, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Dragon ball has 350 million copies in circulation according to multiple sources including shueisha and oricon news. The references are there in the dragon ball separate wikipedia page. Recent reports (from official sources) state figures lower than that, like this press release from Toei,[7], so I assume that the figure from that 2008 article was just not accurate. Xexerss (talk) 17:23, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
Yeah if it was at 350 million in 2008 why would sources published within the last few weeks place it at 260 million? If the 2008 number was correct at the time I would expect it to be more like 400 million now, yet they report far under that. I'm not sure where that number originated, but I think this is probably a case where WP:CONTEXTMATTERS should be taken into account. Link20XX (talk) 18:07, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

I can't believe Dragon Ball has been brought back to 260M copies in circulation, despite it being notoriously wrong

For years now there have been several well-known and important sources that put the manga at over 300M copies in circulation, some even at 350M. Even adding the official sales country by country it easily exceeds 300M, but the number here never changes

The fact that it's still at 260M in particular due to the stubbornness of some users is simply absurd, and does damage to the reliability of an otherwise exemplary wikipedia page which, among other things, is also used as a source by many sites and articles which then spread this error. 350M figures comes from 2009, and since then many other sources started using at random times, including Wikipedia and have been circular reported WP:CIRCULAR and WP:AGE should use new figures and here is a reliable year by break down of the numbers with multiple reliable sources.

Natalie Comic, Toei Animation, Oricon, and these brand new ones from MaiNichi and Nikkei (I'm sure you can find more), all have Dragon Ball at 260m in circulation. The sources you're posting are over a decade old, and there was never a 260m figure posted prior to the 2008 source you're providing for it to be old data. The CBR article you linked here also says the source is an unrevified fan account and While the graphic is fan-made, the sales data featured appears to be accurate to what's been publicly shared by Shonen Jump and its publisher, Shueisha, which suggests they did not fact check it at all.
