Worst firefighting disaster in Boston history?
Not sure this is accurate. The Great Boston Fire of 1872 states 12 firefighters were killed in that incident which surpasses this one. What are we basing this statement on? --Kuzwa (talk) 02:10, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- While there were 11 or 12 firefighters killed in the 1872 fire, only 2 were members of the BFD, 1 was a volunteer, and others were firefighters from other departments - such as West Roxbury and Charlestown. Both those towns were eventually annexed to Boston but, until that time, maintained fire departments as independent towns.Irish Melkite (talk) 02:35, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
