variant finish = players must get exactly 10,000 to win. Excessive points mean no points earned and dice pass to next player, Causes slow down at finish and allows for more frequent "close" finishes. 204.191.146.29 05:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

This page is nearly identical to Greed (dice game) and both games are within the range of variant rules of farkle. In each page, nearly the same rules are described, and the Greed (dice game) and Dice 10000 pages claim specific rules as being correct, when in reality all of these games are folk games with variant rules having arisen in different playing communities.

What do people think of the idea of in some way merging all of these pages, perhaps with redirects or stubs that refer readers to one page where the rules and variations in all games are discussed? The farkle page is already moving in that direction, but I have seen some references claiming that the name 10000 is the most ancient. Can anyone propose a way of determining which name is most widespread now? A Google search might work, but only a tiny fraction of returns for 10000 and greed searches will have to do with the dice game.Jbening 20:08, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mix of two or more games

In Norway the "non-progressive" is widespread as the rules was printed on the backside of the folder for Yatzy papers. It's a solid game and playability is great it's named 10000 here. Apparently there are another game mixed into (or originally?) with rules as passing dice values "rolling off" other players. I read something about progressive play, and tried to split the table with including both variations.

I suggest splitting the article into progressive and not progressive. BakkiZ (talk) 04:08, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

What’s the reasoning for having to get 1,000 point to get onto the board?

Why can’t it be 600 or something easier? 208.114.129.1 06:06, 8 January 2023‎ (UTC)[reply]

it can be boss your house your rules
i play 750 at my place but rolling 1000 isnt too hard trust me some its fun to see someone get on onboard super late into the game and all the sudden win it all 69.162.250.71 (talk) 09:21, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
