This is Paramilitary forces of Pakistan but under the wrong title
This article was previously Paramilitary forces of Pakistan. It has been renamed while everything from Paramilitary forces of Pakistan was put over here. The information is wrong. There is no "civil armed forces." We need to be making corrections here/ Cheel (talk) 23:48, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- No, the previous title is the incorrect one. It lumped multiple forces together without clear reasons why. Please read this NADRA document, which lists the Civil Armed Forces on page 2. Look at current legislation and you will see this title used but not the previous title. That previous list included forces like the National Guard of Pakistan, which is a military reserve OF the Army, whereas forces like Rangers and Frontier Corps are paramilitaries commanded by Army officers. - Neither Rangers nor FC are civil or military. They are both paramilitary. This article is from wrong assertions.--Cheel (talk) 14:30, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
- Civil armed forces is an official title. Paramilitary includes many forces but only the forces under Ministry of Interior are called Civil Armed Forces. The previous title was correct. Read this budget documents from Ministry of Finance https://www.finance.gov.pk/budget/white_part1/62%20Civil%20Armed%20Forces.pdf It doesn't get more official than this. Here is another source from Command and Staff College Quetta. https://cscquetta.gov.pk/role-of-civil-armed-forces-in-a-mega-polis-07-march-2022/ Wikibear47 (talk) 11:09, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
- Literally Protection of Pakistan Act 2014 passed by the national assembly has the exact same wording in Title 2a https://na.gov.pk/uploads/documents/1404714927_922.pdf. I would request you to restore previous title. Wikibear47 (talk) 11:16, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

What are Civil Armed Forces?
Under Pakistani law all paramilitary forces under the Ministry of Interior are called Civil Armed Forces. This has nothing to do with them being a civilian force. Some sources that confirm this are:
Protection of Pakistan Act 2014 https://na.gov.pk/uploads/documents/1404714927_922.pdf
Command and Staff College https://cscquetta.gov.pk/role-of-civil-armed-forces-in-a-mega-polis-07-march-2022/
I should repeat that they are not a Civilian force. They are just named this way. Also I noticed that Cheel has been constantly naming them wrong civil defense forces or CDF which indicates that he didn't bother to read the sources or use the talk page first.
