Boosterism

This article's boosterish tone seemed wrong for an encyclopedia, so I toned it down to make it look less like a press release. See Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.

It is customary to state a reason when reverting someone's changes, that would be nice in the future. I'm guessing that you work for the town and take great pride in it, but please take a look at Wikipedia:Ownership of articles. --CliffC 22:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brick Township, New Jersey → Brick, New Jersey – Township is no longer included in the official name of Brick. Due to population, it is still technically a township, however more commonly referred to as a city. Any map, Google or otherwise, simply refers to the area as Brick. Relisted. Oppose There are hundreds of townships in New Jersey and size has nothing to do with type of government. Some municipalities use the word "township" when referring to themselves and some don't. Teaneck, New Jersey, for example, doesn't use the word township in describing itself, nor is it used in the name of Teaneck High School. The township's website refers repeatedly to Brick Township, including in events such as the "Brick Township Volunteer EMS Open House" and the "3rd Annual Brick Township Green Fair". The Brick Township Public Schools and Brick Township High School also include the word "township". The facebook page for the Brick Township Volunteer Ems Station 16 uses "township", while the word is not included in the title of the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. This in an issue that pervades all of the titles for all townships in New Jersey, and this issue should be addresses on a more global statewide basis, rather than one article at a time. Oppose. Looking through sources and around, I see that standard practice is to introduce this place as "Brick Township" or "Township of Brick". The would be because "brick" is an odd and ambiguous name for a place. Having been introduced, it is then reasonable to use "Brick" as a shortened name. Counting inline text use will miss introductory use and post-introductory use, as so is a woefully flawed metric. Maps always will go for shortened or abbreviated forms, so maps are a poor guide on this sort of question. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 22:30, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Weak support. What is the common name? If it is not Brick Township, then this must be moved. I think only SmokeyJoe raises valid issues here about not moving. Population

The second sentence in the first paragraph of this article states the population of Brick Township is currently "100 billion". This is blatantly wrong, considering that the population of Earth itself does not reach 100 billion (currently, Earth's population is approximately 7.125 billion). I would suggest that someone reconcile the Demographics section and the Introduction, as the Demographics section claims a much more reasonable estimate of 75,072 people in Brick Township. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeb34997152 (talk • contribs) 17:45, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
