It was recommended that I place this template here to see if anyone can help with this - I don't speak Spanish (which is the language most sources on this topic are in), but I'd really like to get the excessive citations issue fixed. If anyone can speak Spanish and would like to help out, please do :] Suntooooth (talk) 18:31, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can assist in the future if needed as I can speak a decent amount of Spanish, and can read quite a bit, but there are other users who probably are more suited for the task. Zippybonzo | Talk (he|him) 19:59, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Suntooooth: Deactivating the help template. This is more a content issue than a matter of "how to edit", which is what the template is intended for. Also, the help templates are intended to be used on your own user talk page. — jmcgnh(talk)(contribs)19:49, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On 22 May, the Director General of the PNC announced that 30 people, including the original killers of Vásquez and crucial leaders of the Fulton Locos Salvatruchos clique which had not previously been affected by the crackdown and had began to operate from the rural areas of Nueva Concepcion.
I tagged this sentence because it's unclear what the Director General announced. Was the announcement that the killer and leaders weren't previously affected and started operating from rural areas, or is it something else? Either the sentence needs to be reworded (if the information is already in the sentence but it's just structured weirdly) or the information announced should be added on. Explanations for reversions
I just reverted a large number of changes recently made to this article. Those reversions and my reasons are as follows:
The Spanish name needs to align with the name used in the sources. I don't know of any sources that use the word asedio; cerco is ubiquitous.
I removed the citations from the first background paragraph. They aren't needed because the sources are in the linked main article.
Moved mention of the siege of Soyapango to a parenthetical at the end of the phrase for readability.
Restored the previous placement of the line describing how long Vasquez had served. It's better to keep all biographical info together.
Reverted addition of some specific equipment used in the search. The sources cited do not support the information.
Reworked the mention that they are being held in CECOT. It no longer incorrectly implies who mentioned it and when they would be held there.
