1975 final game score
On the same page of the NCAA reference on the history of the AIAW field hockey tournament, there are two different scores given for the 1975 tournament final. A score of 2–1 following penalty strokes is stated, as well as the score of 4–3 following two overtime periods. I suspect that the penalty stroke round that followed overtime ended in a 3 to 2 advantage for West Chester, which when added to a 1–1 tie score would be 4–3 on aggregate. I suspect that under hockey scoring criteria, winning the penalty stroke round would add one point to the tied score, thus making the final score 2–1. However, I do not know this to be a fact.
