Use of Primary Sources
@Oz346, can you please explain why you have added further details citing what appears to be a primary source. Kalanishashika (talk) 13:46, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- UTHR is a well established reliable source and it is permitted to be used by the Sri Lanka reconciliation project. Oz346 (talk) 13:48, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Oz346, excuse me why did you revert my changes as "Reverting vandalism". As I understand, consensus needs to be reached to add content. Hence, I am removing your the content you added, until such time we can reach a consensus. Kalanishashika (talk) 13:51, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- UTHR has been established as a reliable source, true. However, in the article you cited from it is a Primary Source. Kalanishashika (talk) 13:53, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- There is no rule saying primary source information can not be cited, it has been reviewed and analysed by a reliable secondary source UTHR. Oz346 (talk) 13:56, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- are you going to remove similar UTHR cited information from this page that incriminates the LTTE for example? of course not:
- Eravur massacre#Incident Oz346 (talk) 13:58, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Oz346, what do you mean That is irrelevant when you readded the content. The cited report appears to be a primary source. Wikipedia:No original research states that primary sources should be used with care. You are adding content as if its fact based on the cited source. And yes, I think this would apply to any article.
