Changed from Low to Mid because of the Pullman Strike's impact on the convention. Pknkly (talk) 00:44, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Vice Presidential Candidates
- As I read through the Official Proceedings, it became apparent to me that Sewall was something of a last candidate standing. McLean, Bland and Sibley all seemed to have far more support among the delegates, but were against accepting second, notably McLean who had stated even before the first ballot began that he would not accept the nomination. Despite this he continued to garner votes until after the 4th ballot, at which point the Ohio delegation, with much reluctance, read a telegram sent by him and withdrew his name from consideration. Quite interesting honestly. --Ariostos (talk) 16:01, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
