Why is half of the stuff on this page about Louisiana? Cajun music is the selected article even! - Dudemanfellabra (talk) 20:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

The Portal didn't exist until I created it and that was when I was kinda still learning the ropes of design so I pretty much went with Portal Louisiana's design. Some things I got to, and some things I didn't. lol It's fixed now. ;] - ✰ALLST☆R✰ ^echo 18:31, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Mississippi photo not mine

 credits aren't supposed to be with photos anyway as they are credited on the actual photo upload - ALLST✰R▼^echo _{wuz here} 22:39, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that a photo of Mississippi has apparently been selectively display on the portal apparently 27 times. This is not my photo although it's those selected picture pages are crediting me. All I did was put a tag on it saying it needs to be re-named (I might have tried to re-upload it too at some point but I can't find the new image). The file history seems truncated... could be from my earlier attempts to upload but this was a couple years ago and I forget what exactly happened. Jason Quinn (talk) 20:27, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Technically there are still over 20 left. If you go to the image, it lists all the pages that refer to it. I'd do it myself at some point, but I'm curious if these pages are even needed. Jason Quinn (talk) 00:45, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

So far, I've changed 17 of the images/descriptions. Have 10 to go. These are supposed to rotate on the main portal page to show a random image, so yes, they are needed. It was a copy & paste job from Portal:Louisiana when I set up Portal:Mississippi and just forgot to go back and fix it. - ALLST✰R▼^echo _{wuz here} 12:32, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Public gin

Hello. I was wondering what a public gin is? It is mentioned in two articles about locations in Mississippi, and I think it might be a pub of some sort, but am not quite certain. I would like to wikilink to an appropriate article. ^Talk/♥фĩłдωəß♥\^Work 22:18, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.
