Phir Ussi Mod Par (English: "Back to Square One") is a Hindi film directed by Lekh Tandon and produced under the banner of Avant-garde Motion Picture.[1][2]
The film tackles the contemporary and highly debated topical subject related to “Triple Talaq,” a tradition in Islam where divorce initiated by uttering three words. This practice remains a frequent topic in social and media discussions, generating ongoing public debate. The film delves into controversial subject, highlighting the futility and negative consequences of the prevalent practice of Triple Talaq, it juxtaposes with social and religious perspectives on the tradition against modern societal norms, illustrating how the practice of "Triple Talaq" is often misinterpreted and manipulated for personal gain, overshadowing its intended ethical and religious context.
"Phir Ussi Mod Par" premiered at the Berlin Film Festival 2018[3] to a full audience and received a positive response. It was produced by Trinetra, Kanika, and Anshula Bajpai under their banner Kanika Multiscope (KMPL).
