King George V acceded to the throne of the United Kingdom in May, 1910. As World War I broke out shortly after his accession, most of the state visits of foreign heads of state he received were made after the end of the war. Nearly all of the visits were from Britain's Allies of World War I, and George V bacame the first Britsih monarch to receive state visits from non-European countries.
