Ali Shahmohammadi
Ali Shahmohammadi[1] is an Iranian awarded filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, supervisor and teacher of screenwriting[2], film co-production facilitator[3], film editor and photographer [4].
Career
He first studied in “Repair and maintenance of airplane” engineering. In the same years, he completed a one-year filmmaking course at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society and made his first short film as a graduation project in 2000.
In the first years of filmmaking, he had made his films by the income he earned from the airplane engineering field and was making many short fiction and documentary films.
Simultaneously with filmmaking, he also studied in "English Language Teaching" and received a bachelor's degree in this field. Then he studied in Dramatic Literature and received a master's degree in it from the Faculty of Art and Architecture (Tehran).
After that, he resigned from airplane engineering job and went to Europe to continue his education and received a master's degree in documentary film directing from DOCNOMADS[5], which is a Joint Master between Belgium, Portugal and Hungary, supported by the European Union.
He is also a film editor who edited several fiction films and documentary series and photographer with some photo exhibitions[6]
Ali Shahmohammadi also has written two books: "Two weeks, ten steps to start screenwriting" and "Reading Takhti " which is a monologue for theater about Gholamreza Takhti, Olympic champion and hero of the Iranian people.
