WikiProjectMed:Wikimania report (Mossab)

First of all, thanks to Wikimedia medicine for giving me this opportunity to represent it in this global conference for Wikipedians. Special thanks to Dr james and the board. Please find attached summery of my participation.

• I struggled with visa and got refused at the dead time and appealed then got the visa 3 days before travel. And was difficult finding flights at that point and had long transit. Thanks to Dr James for supporting my decision to appeal.
• Presenting a session with Houcemeddine Turki about “Wikidata status in Africa and the Middle East: link to the report
• introducing Wikimedia Medicine to the medical and health care specialized wikimedians and invite them to join us like Dr Donia Dumiati, Medical student from Egypt among other Arab Wikimedians.
• Participating in the Arab Wikimedians meetup at the conference.
• Attending the social meeting of Wikimedia medicine at a local restaurant.
• Meeting and discussion with our board members that I haven’t met in person before: Tasleema and Dr Anjna.
• Introducing Yemeni Wikipedian Rashad Al- Khameesy to Dr james and the board for potential collaboration in technical aspects with Wikimedia medicine.
• There was scheduled presentation between me and Osama Eid about Wikipedia education program in the medical schools in Jordan and Palestine but it was unfortunately cancelled by the organizers due to tight schedule as the session before our session took longer than intended to be.
• Meeting with Andrew Leung to discuss proceeding with WikiJournal of medicine to renew Scopus status of the journal and to fasten process of review as we have some pending reviews.
• Meeting with Jimmy and Maryana to invite them to visit our campus at Hashemite University.
• Establishing some connection with Wikimedian to work on public health intelligence related with my current occupation at Jordan CDC to enrich Wikipedia public health articles through medical context that I am organizing in September.
• Attending the session about the changes in Wikimedia grants dissemination and meeting with Veronica to discuss the Wikimedia mission-allied organizations.
