Establishment
The organization was established by a meeting at the July 2012 Wikimania conference. The first documentation of the organization was in July 2012. Since December 2012 the organization has been a legally registered United States nonprofit organization based in New York. In November 2014 the Wikimedia Affiliations committee approved the groups request to be one of the Wikimedia Foundation-affiliated Wikimedia user groups.
Governance
The supreme governance document of the Wiki Project Med Foundation is the WikiProjectMed:Bylaws.
Wiki Project Med has a WikiProjectMed:Membership which appoints the Board of Directors.
The Board has regular meetings.
Domains
The organization controls the domains wikimediamedicine.com, wikimediamedicine.org and wikimediamedicine.eu
Thematic organization
