The ABCDEFG Rule is a mnemonic for assessing the likelihood of a spot being cancerous.[1][2]

The letters correspond to asymmetry,[1][2]

border irregularity,[1][2]

C

color variability,[1][2]

difference, as the ugly duckling sign, where one spot is unusually peculiar compared to others,[1][2]

or a diameter that is widening,[1][2]

elevation or evolution,[1][2]

firm to touch,[1][2]

or just funny looking,[1][2]
