User Script?

Hey MA! I had a question: Has anybody created a user script that would put the WP:AN and WP:ANI links in the sidebar? I wanted to know because, uh, I kinda made a script that does that....Located here. Anywho, let me know! Yoshi24517Chat Online 02:59, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Not sure. Adding links to the side bar is easy enough, though. For a simple link you shouldn't need to wrap your code in an anonymous function, just use mw.util.addPortletLink('p-navigation', mw.util.getUrl('User:MusikAnimal/Dashboard'), "DASHBOARD"); (link to my dashboard). responseHelper only adds links there because those are the admin pages it supports, and it only hides the links when editing because it will instead show the list of responses MusikAnimal talk 03:31, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
I think you could tell I borrowed it from there. Lol. However, I will fix that. Thanks! Plus I have your responseHelper script installed anyway. Yoshi24517Chat Online 04:48, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Just noticed something: I did what you told me to do, and its giving me an unclosed syntax, yet I have it closed. Could you take a look? You don't have to if you don't want to!!! On an off topic note, how was your holiday in Bermuda? I meant to ask, but I forgot. I was born in Bermuda!!!

Someimes I apparently forget my signature. Adding it now. Yoshi24517Chat Online 05:01, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

You were using single quotes inside a string that was wrapped in single quotes. Also you were missing semicolons at the end of each line. I recommend enabling the "enhanced editing toolbar" in Special:Preferences. It will highlight syntax errors and warn you about them before saving MusikAnimal talk 05:33, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Oh, and Bermuda was wonderful! Close enough to home that I imagine I'll be visiting again soon. Nice place to call your home! Prettiest waters I've ever seen, that's for sure MusikAnimal talk 05:35, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
I lived there till I was 3, then I moved to California. And I'm lucky I didn't disappear from the Bermuda Triangle... Yoshi24517Chat Online 06:03, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

TMZ's initial reports are still sketchy, but calling it a "hoax" without it officially being disproved sounds like a clear violation of WP:CIVIL. Tom Danson (talk) 01:52, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

I did some quick research and I guess I saw a confirmed hoax from earlier this year... either way the hoax wasn't directed at any editors in particular. I don't see how this is uncivil? I did the same quick research just now, and the TMZ report you speak of is showing up! So hasty to call it a "hoax" I suppose MusikAnimal talk 01:57, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

A message from DecimaTech

My wife has had her IP address restricted from making an account due to changes we made describing the penguin depicted in the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition with bagpiper Gilbert Kerr page as "captive" rather than "indifferent." While it is true that we were made aware of the article based on a popular reddit post that compared to original caption to one that unnecessarily specified which individual was the bagpiper and which individual was the penguin, our motivations for altering the article were based on surprise that a truly indifferent penguin would stand so close to a bagpiper with no other penguins in sight. Upon investigation, we discovered the evidence we cited in our edits that the penguin was remaining in place due to physical restraints. Therefore, we both felt the "indifferent" modifier was both baseless and misleading.

I have noticed that you moved to have the article semi-protected, and while I understand the motivations for doing so, my wife is now prohibited from editing other articles or creating an account. She has made several edits in the past to articles such as "Married at First Sight" and "Insecure" that were, I believe, both properly cited and consistent with the encyclopedic mission of Wikipedia. I would be happy to direct you to her past work if you would like to verify its quality and consistency with Wikipedia's mission. She had not needed to create a username in the past but now cannot do so, which is preventing her from editing other articles in ways she believes would improve their content.

If you were not responsible for restricting the ability of our IP address, 98.251.209.185, from creating accounts then I apologize for the misunderstanding, but if you were involved in this decision or have the power to alter it, we would greatly appreciate it. While I now recognize that our edits to the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition exacerbated a chaotic situation, we made those edits in good faith and believe they were more defensible than the original text. DecimaTech (talk) 05:20, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I've removed the word "indifferent" as I agree it does not seem appropriate MusikAnimal talk 05:36, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Page views question

Do you have any explanations for the sudden spike in views of my timeline? Oh course I'm delighted to see this – is there any way to determine the reason? Thanks, wbm1058 (talk) 19:05, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

@Wbm1058: The spike seems to only be there for Desktop [1], whereas on mobile web the pageviews are rather consistent over time [2]. This unfortunately means it's likely a bot spoofed with a human-like user agent. In general, if there is a spike in traffic on one platform there will be on the others too. This tactic I think is the best way to identify false positives. We rely on bots and spiders being honest about who they are and using an appropriate user agent, so the false positives themselves are impossible to prevent :/ Hope this helps! MusikAnimal talk 19:31, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Why then would a bot or bots have sudden interest in the topic? What's the motivation for "spoofing"? Can you tell what IPs the new traffic is coming from? Hopefully the motivation isn't a denial of service attack on Wikipedia servers. wbm1058 (talk) 19:37, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Why the bots are scraping the page so much is anyone's guess. Spoofing may be done to get around query limitations and serving of different content. Some websites may not appreciate bots constantly consuming resources (we don't mind), so they will serve less expensive content to the bot. Logic to prevent DDoS'ing is certainly in place on Wikimedia servers, regardless of the user agent. I don't think that's what's going on here. The IPs of viewers are recorded to some extent I believe, but only for temporary basic analytics. Whether the analytics team could use this data to improve identifying bots vs legitimate users, I'm unsure, but it seems very complex and subject to false positives. User agents are the best and industry-standard way of identifying human viewership MusikAnimal talk 19:56, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Bug(?) in range contribs tool

Hey there, I was just trying to use the range contribs tool (query here) and I noticed that while it comes out as though it's filtering according to the range I requested, the list of edits also includes IPs outside the range I put into the tool. Roughly, it looks like I requested edits for 209.140.32.0/20 but it's giving me approximately 209.140.0.0/16. Is that behaviour intentional or is there a bug in the tool? (Or am I just not using it right?) Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:58, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm not sure, but to be honest I won't be investing any time in fixing bugs with that tool. We have an official one coming soon, see phab:T145912. Get excited! MusikAnimal talk 17:59, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 14:15, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
I noticed the same problem mentioned by User:Ivanvector. The existing tool would be useful if that one bug were fixed. I confess that (while I subscribe to this phab) I haven't closely studied the proposed function to see if it resembles the existing one with the bug fixed. Is there any way to view any code that has been written so far, for the new tool? When I used the IPv4 tool in the past, the main issue was how to quickly identify ranges that were almost exclusively used by the bad actor and were recent. The CIDR gadget was not useful for this because it sorted by IP but not by date. EdJohnston (talk) 05:46, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: The code for the new tool will largely be based or shared with the CheckUser tool, so you could check it's repo. This provides 90 days of data, sufficient for most people looking to make a range block. There's a long story with that... of course we want to put in any arbitrary date, but this is essentially a momentous task that would take considerably longer than going off of the CU extension, by orders of magnitude. I'm not certain it'd be feasible at all with IPv6. It should go without saying the public IP range contribs tool won't report any sensitive data that exists in the CU tables, lest you be concerned :) Anyway, checkout the screenshots at phab:T145912. The plan is to be able to sort by date or IP. Our end of the work has not begun, but it will be starting very soon! :D MusikAnimal talk 06:15, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: a workaround for the CIDR gadget I've found helpful is to pull up the range you're interested in and then Ctrl-F for "2016-12" (for example). Doesn't sort, but at least the dates you're interested in are highlighted, in Chrome anyway. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 11:30, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Count on tools.wmflabs.org

Hi, I am curious how the program at /tools.wmflabs.org counts. Reason: on swwiki we work with a lot of redirects. Once because the use of language varies a lot (something like "Atlantic", "Ocean Atlantic" to be found more frequently than the grammatically more correct "Ocean of Atlantic") and then because the changing prefixes (like alphabetically singular and plural often start under different letters).

Now my question: does the programme count the target lemmas views only or all the redirect entries views as separate or both of these together ?--Kipala (talk) 09:59, 17 December 2016 (UTC) Kipala (talk) 09:59, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

@Kipala: When someone goes to a redirect, the pageview is registered for that redirect, and not for the target page. You can get the pageviews of a page and all of its redirects using Redirect Views. See also the FAQ. Hope this helps! MusikAnimal talk 20:42, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

Bag trials

Hi MA, when approving bot trials for most cases please include an edits= and/or days= limiter. Leaving it open to the operator can be messy :D — xaosflux Talk 16:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

If you're referring to ZackBot 7, the instructions were to do a full run (no edit or time constraint), but with the less comprehensive regex. We weren't sure how many pages would be eliminated, so I didn't want to outright approve it. As it turns out, there are still over 2,000 pages left, so another trial is in order with more complex regular expressions MusikAnimal talk 22:31, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Massviews

Ok I keep on asking. I tried massviews. To me it looks there are different figures compared to siteviews. When I call up massviews for https://sw.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamii%3AUsafiri_wa_anga_la_nje I for period 2016-11-17 - 2016-11-17 I get
1 Usafiri wa anga la nje 1 1 / day
2 NASA 1 1 / day
but when I call the articles in siteview for same period I get
NASA 133 4 0 0 1.855 Unknown All languages • Redirects
Usafiri wa anga la nje 67 2 0 0 2.221 Unknown All languages• Redirects

Do I understand it wrongly? Kipala (talk) 21:42, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

@Kipala: First off, I think you mean Pageviews and not Siteviews :) Siteviews shows total pageviews across all pages for a given project. Back to your question... I'm unable to reproduce your issue. So here's Massviews for 2016-11-17 [4]. Just as you say, I see 1 pageview for NASA and 1 pageview for Usafiri wa anga la nje. Here are the same two pages in the Pageviews tool, for the same day [5]. There I also see 1 pageview for each. Are you sure you have the same date range, platform, and agent set in Pageviews as you did in Massviews? MusikAnimal talk 23:03, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Should be  Fixed. permaLink is in the outer scope and gets set when assignPermission is called. The issue here is a race condition because the requests were done asynchronously. I'm forced to use a system of callbacks to make sure permaLink is there [9], which slows things down by maybe 1 second at most =P The whole script needs to be cleaned up. I sort of sloppily put it together as my understanding of OOjs was poor at the time. I also want to expand the script to be a standalone user rights manager, where you don't have to go through PERM to use it. Anyway thanks for letting me know! Editor of the Week seeking nominations (and a new facilitator)

The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.

The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?

Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

In addition, the WikiProject is seeking a new facilitator/coordinator to handle the logistics of the award. Please contact L235 if you are interested in helping with the logistics of running the award in any capacity. Remove your name from here to unsubscribe from further EotW-related messages. 4th GA Cup - Round 2

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup

Greetings, GA Cup competitors!

December 29th marked the end of the first round, after it was extended from its previously scheduled conclusion at the end of November. Because of the smaller pool of contestants this year, it was decided to keep sign-ups open throughout the month of December.

This extension proved to be very helpful as we saw that more users signed up and completed many reviews. Krishna Chaitanya Velaga earned an impressive 402 points, followed by Cartoon network freak with a close 338 points. Shearonink who signed up after our extension was in third with 170 points.

We had a rule clarification in Round 1 which was that many articles were being passed with blatant copyright violations and plagarism occurring in the articles. Thus, the judges have concluded that if an article is passed even if it has a copyright violation/plagarism, we will not provide points for that article as it wouldn't be considered a "complete review" under the scoring rules.

In the end, 94 articles were reviewed by 14 users who will all advance to Round 2. The judges had planned on having 16 contestants advance but since only 14 did, we are changing the pools in this round. We will be having 2 pools of 3 and 2 pools of 4 in Round 2, with the top 2 in each pool advancing to Round 3 as well as the top participant ("9th place") of all remaining competitors. Round 2 will begin on January 1 at 00:00:00 UTC and will end on January 29 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 2 and the pools can be found here.

Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase!

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Hello MusikAnimal, I am a slightly experienced editor in Wikipedia, and I have been denied rights to Rollback previously, I want to ask that with current record, am I suitable to have rollback? I know that twinkle is what is available to me now, but Huggle seems to be a more effective tool for vandalism fighting. I do appreciate your time and I will take whatever your response is. Thank You. Josvan Talk 03:34, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

@JosVan: Hey sorry for the late reply! I'm a bit tied up right now, but if you make a request at WP:PERM/R someone will get to it soon :) Best MusikAnimal talk 23:58, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

edwin encarnacion

Edwin Encarnacion is on the Cleveland Indians. Signed with them well over a week ago. It should be changed. Bryzzo1744 (talk) 06:00, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Hey! I protected Edwin Encarnación because there was a lot of back-and-forth editing, which is disruptive. Whether or not Encarnación has officially signed to a new team, I am unsure. The place to discuss however is on the talk page, at Talk:Edwin Encarnación. There you will be able to discuss with other editors who are interested in Edwin Encarnacion. Please do include a link to a reliable source backing the claim. Hope this helps MusikAnimal talk 07:08, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Protection on British Empire

Hey. When the full protection ends, can you restore indef. semi-protection? Shall I remind you when it happens? --George Ho (talk) 07:20, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Sure, and I think it's time I propose a bot task for this... This scenario is all too common MusikAnimal talk 07:24, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

You have new message/s Hello. You have a new message at Kudpung's talk page. 01:48, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Everybody's going silly over your excellent newsletter initiative. I suggest you step in and take hold - when admins (and Arbs) start nitpicking over stuff like this it's enough to make me want to retire, and I've been very close to it these past weeks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:10, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

@Kudpung: Hey! It was not my initiative... I roped you in because you had brought the idea before. I don't know what you're referring to honestly, I see only constructive discussion? Your references to ArbCom are equally as baffling. Either way, it's nothing to get worked up over! Have a beer, on the house :D MusikAnimal talk 07:40, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Happy New Year, MusikAnimal!

Send New Year cheer by adding {{subst:Happy New Year fireworks}} to user talk pages.

I know it's kind of late, but I wanted to wish you a happy new year on this date. epicgenius (talk) 20:00, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Thank you old friend, Epicgenius, and everyone else who spammed my talk page with holiday cheer! I hope to find myself back working on WP:NYC topics alongside you sometime soon... I miss content writing. And by the way, you need to finally make it out to one of the chapter events! How about Wikipedia Day 2017??? It is going to be blast. I was there last year, believe you me it's well worth your $2.75 fare! MusikAnimal talk 07:47, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I'm not so sure about Wikipedia Day. I'll try though And also, if you haven't yet, you should go see the Second Avenue Subway. I heard it's totally worth that $2.75... epicgenius (talk) 13:10, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I rode it the opening day! Not the very first train though, I was a bit hungover from the New Year's celebrations MusikAnimal talk 20:01, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Sunday January 15: Wikipedia Day NYC 2017

You are invited to join us at Ace Hotel for Wikipedia Day NYC 2017, a Wikipedia celebration and mini-conference as part of the project's global 16th birthday festivities. In addition to the party, the event will be a participatory unconference, with plenary panels, lightning talks, and of course open space sessions.

With special guests Katherine Maher of the Wikimedia Foundation and Tim Wu of Columbia Law School speaking on our Post-truth panel!

Also featuring an International/Multilingual panel, a Documenting Activism panel, a Multimedia/Tech Panel, a Science panel, an Art panel, and more.

And there will be cake.

We also hope for the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects.

10:00am - 7:00 pm at Ace Hotel, 20 West 29th Street in Manhattan

We especially encourage folks to add your 5-minute lightning talks to our roster, and otherwise join in the "open space" experience! Newcomers are very welcome! Bring your friends and colleagues! --Pharos (talk) 14:56, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

MuzikBot doesn't respect nowiki

see this edit --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:39, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

@Redrose64: I guess the {{Permprot}} was putting the page in the maintenance category because the subject page wasn't protected? The bot probably should have then removed that template. Either way the {{pp-protected}} indeed was wrapped in a <nowiki>...</nowiki> so the bot should ignore it. I will look into fixing this. Thanks for letting me know MusikAnimal talk 19:46, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Preload

I like your setup on your talk page which seems to preload a section header containing the revisioner, is the done entirely by User:MusikAnimal/Talk preload or is there other stuff involved ? (but I've just noticed there was no preload in this message) - Mlpearc (open channel) 21:22, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

@Mlpearc: The magic is with {{talk header preload}}. Cheers :) MusikAnimal talk 21:26, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Page view API?

Inquiries that rhyme or are in the form of a haiku will be given priority. hmm...

"Page view API"

Did You Know...? is considering a change:
Eliminate all the non-bolded links.
We are, right now, in a discussion stage
But this idea has gained some ground, me thinks.

The main concern is that those links distract
The reader from the links we embolden.
These non-bold links can get more hits, in fact.
The extent, I think, should be determined.

Such inquiry requires the page hits.
You have developèd a tool for such
Data from which would help my statistics
But I do not know JavaScript that much.

Is there a public api for stats
So my analysis can help the chat?

Edit counter option

Hi, I saw your name listed as one of the xtools-ec contacts. I have an ask. It would be helpful in an LTA analysis to do an edit counter where multiple accounts are treated as one, especially the timecard portion. Is this possible? - Brianhe (talk) 18:50, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

@Brianhe: I don't think this is possible with xtools, but you can do it with toollabs:supercount. E.g. [16], showing the intersection of you and Jimbo Wales. You separate the usernames in the URL with a pipe, like user=Brianhe|Jimbo_Wales. Best MusikAnimal talk 21:39, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi MusickAnimal, would you revisit the use of classes on this page? It is currently using the classes in MediaWiki:Group-autoconfirmed.css related to confirmed or not confirmed users, but is using text related to registered or unregistered users. This may need to have an update to MediaWiki:Group-user.css to accommodate this usage. The specific use-case that is a problem is that registered but unconfirmed users are getting this message instead of the add request link at WP:PERM/C. On the other pages it is the wrong "text" (it should tell them they have to be confirmed, not have to be registered if we are going to warn them). See also: Wikipedia talk:Requests for permissions. If you don't want to work on this, please let me know and I'll put it on my list. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 02:52, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Note, I turned off the class controls for now - feel free to turn back on if it can be made to work as expected. — xaosflux Talk 17:46, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Yay! I think I got it working, thanks for letting me know :) MusikAnimal talk 19:17, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, I rolled your update in to Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Instructions as well. — xaosflux Talk 23:05, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

False positives - other way round?

Hi, happy New Year! I tried to understand false positives, On swwiki last day view "Data" showed on top, which usually is not visible in the higher view numbers (Ranked 670 of the most-viewed pages for December 2016). Your explanation for false positives advises to do a comparison and that mobile web should be similar or higher than desktop. In this case it is the other way round. Nearly all views from mobile web. Can that be false positives, too? Kipala (talk) 12:06, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

@Kipala: Your edit added a load of garbage along with it. Did you accidentally copy and paste something, or should I be reporting this as a bug of the 2017 source editor? Sam Walton (talk) 12:11, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
@Kipala: Sorry for the delayed response! Been a busy past two weeks. So determining false positives can be tricky... In most cases you can rely on my description – where mobile views should be comparable to desktop. However it's possible a bot or what have you is using a mobile-like user agent. Another factor is the use of mobile devices in your country. For instance, I believe some developing nations are given hand-me-down mobile devices and provided internet through philanthropic programs. In such cases the general guideline would naturally be reversed, and the higher presence of desktop would be unusual. So what you might consider is first comparing the popularity of mobile versus desktop for your project, then use that as a basis. On quick glance it seems swwiki does attract more mobile viewership than desktop (though I'm not claiming your country to be developing :). The last thing to consider is the general traffic the particular article in question receives. So if the article normally gets 50 pageviews a day, then all of a sudden in a single day it gets thousands, and there's no real explanation for it, it might indeed be a false positive. So unfortunately I can't give you a concrete answer, but hopefully I was able to provide you with some insight on how to identify false positives moving forward. I will also update the FAQ to better explain how the trends can vary project to project. Best MusikAnimal talk 23:49, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

A message from Masssly about Pageviews Analysis

Hi!

I'm looking for a way to generate Pageviews Analysis for "all pages" created by "a specific user" on "one or more wikis". I could use your help. Thanks. —M@sssly 11:05, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello Masssly! Sorry for the late reply. I've actually been working on a new tool to be added to the Pageviews suite, dubbed "Userviews", that does just what you ask for, except only on a per-project basis. You can follow phab:T150585 for updates. In the meantime, if there is a wiki page that contains a list of the pages created by a user, you can use the Massviews tool to get the pageviews of them. For instance, I have my articles listed at User:MusikAnimal/Articles/Created. Using Massviews, I select the "wikilinks" source and paste in the full URL to the page. This will get the pageviews of all pages that are linked on that page, see [17]. Hope this helps! MusikAnimal talk 21:25, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Super useful. Thank you very much! —M@sssly 06:34, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

This user was globally locked this week for socking. It's possible they may be unlocked, but perhaps they should still be desysopped on testwiki. Could you take a look? --Rschen7754 03:34, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

I don't know, they haven't abused testwiki, and they're still a sysop on other wikis. I think I'll leave it as-is for now. They can't do anything with account being locked anyway MusikAnimal talk 19:11, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

A message from J.seoul requesting userfication

I hope this is the right place for this message.... sorry if it is not! Happy New Year, by the way....

Hello, MusikAnimal, I am trying to request access to deleted page, please? I found your username on the page Category:Wikipedia_administrators_willing_to_provide_copies_of_deleted_articles of those willing to provide copies of deleted articles.... only requesting so I can retain content and reference links, etc. Obra Architects is the page in question. [overzealous writer and new user, but if possible I'd like the content to either work on it or reconsider, only to retrieve content please, if possible] I appreciate your help. Thanks, J.seoul J.seoul (talk) 16:06, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply! Let's first contact the deleting administrator, User:Y. If they agree we might move the page to the draft space. From there you can clean it up to conform to inclusion criteria, and even submit it for review through the articles for creation program MusikAnimal talk 18:38, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Hello, MusikAnimal, Thank you for your reply. I tried to contact them, on 27 December 2016 but have no response, and had read somewhere that if too much time passes, would be unable to retrieve data. I thought I read about inactivity and lack of response leading to deletion of content. No response yet from User:Y and simply want content for future reference which is why I reached out to you. Any suggestion/advice would be appreciated. Thanks! J.seoul (talk) 15:40, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Also, User:MusikAnimal, I put my request on the talk page of the deleting administrator, I hope this is correct, if there is some other place you suggest can you please let me know? User_talk:YJ.seoul (talk) 15:58, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Hello, MusikAnimal, I have been archived..... does this mean my request is no longer being considered?

As I mentioned in comments above, I follow your suggestion about first contacting the deleting administrator, but since there is no response, is there any other route? Or should I just wait. Thanks, J.seoul (talk) 19:23, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
