Updating interwikis
Hello, Ibrahem!
How can I update interwikis for the articles that I translate to Portuguese? For example: Rizatriptan (pt:Rizatriptana) and Cannabis use disorder (pt:Transtorno por uso de cannabis).
I notice that when I don't translate directly from your subpage on simple wiki that is not updated. Is there a way I can do it myself?
Also, even though I am using WikiProjectMed tools, when I one won't translate directly from your subpages, numbers will probably be underestimated. Teles (talk) 13:53, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- User:Teles do you mean the Wikidata links? Looking at pt:Rizatriptana and this was translated from EN WP rather than MDWiki and not translated via the tool so yes is not included in our dashboard stats.
- Our dashboard is here https://mdwiki.toolforge.org/Translation_Dashboard/index.php and has a number of benefits. Happy to discuss further improvements. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:36, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Doc James: Yes. Wikidata links. I see that Rizatriptan is not linked with pt version, but Cannabis use disorder is, even though I used the same process with both of them by translating from English Wikipedia and manually linking it to Wikidata.
I mostly use English Wikipedia version as the source when it is larger, but always use the dashboard as a suggestion of what to translate. For some articles, all three versions (MDwiki, simplewiki subpage, English Wikipedia) are different between themselves, which is confusing. If there was a way to choose from where to translate and still doing it from the dashboard, that would be an improvement IMO.—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 18:29, 7 September 2024 (UTC)- User:Teles Rizatriptan is now links to the PT version here. It just takes a bit of time for things to move through the system.
- If you want to translate full articles we can make it such that you can do so.
- We used Simple WP only briefly and will not be using them going forwards. We can give you the option of either translating the full version or just the leads of articles here. Ibrahem how long will this take you to build? Basically I want the ability to put certain user accounts in a list within "coordinator tools" which will give them full articles if they are in such a list. Otherwise the default will remain just the leads for most users. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:09, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
