Slowly getting things off the ground here. Will take a fair bit to get everything work... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:34, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

odd

when I login my screen freezes/ I cant edit (hence the reason Im leaving you this note as an IP) I'm guessing its something that will slowly get fixed...to be frank I wanted to add articles related to COVID pandemic....Ozzie User:Ozzie10aaaa talk

See if that fixed it User:Ozzie10aaaa. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:55, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
I turned off 'twinkle', that fixed it, thanks--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 19:19, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa I may have forgot to turn on you of your functions. Get to have you here and this working. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:21, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
[1] on it, should be a couple of days,(wanted to tell you this is a very good effort/project, thus you never know how far it will go and help people) Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:48, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks User:Ozzie10aaaa. Yes hopefully we will get this initial import down in a week or so. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:20, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Doc James... other drugs/procedures[2] completely imported (plus yesterdays essential meds)...tomorrow I'll start looking at price/dosage slowly one by one --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:39, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
Perfect thanks User:Ozzie10aaaa. Am on call tonight so will hopefully get through returning prices to all the essential medicines.
With respect to "dosages" I am adding that section at the bottom of "medical uses" and trying to include the defined daily dose (DDD) when those details are present.
This is a good website for DDDs as seen here[3] Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:59, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
have started to add DDD to all essential meds (per where left off dosage working point on list), Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:51, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa yes dose not exist for all medications. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 22:16, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Doc James, Sandy Georgia is giving me some trouble on WP, will be back when done(just emailed you)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:49, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

James, User:Ozzie10aaaa: When importing articles, it is essential to import the entire edit history as far as possible. Can we please make sure the box "Copy all history revisions for this page" is always ticked? I know this means a slower import, but the conditions for attribution require either that or an unambiguous link back to the revision exported from enwiki. Obviously the former is always preferable. Can we go back and re-import the full history for all articles where that hasn't been done? That may result in some wasted effort, but I do feel it's important to get this right. --Doug (talk) 19:52, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

User:Doug and User:Ozzie10aaaa our tech person is building a tool to do that history import for all articles imported. So no need to do it manually Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 21:40, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
User:Doug and User:Ozzie10aaaa have adjusted the footer so it now links to the Wikipedia page directly :-) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 22:33, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

dosage info

  • about halfway thru 'essential meds'(may take me an extra day to finish)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:55, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa have paraphrased a bit more and added the reference :-) Heparin#Dosage Ref toolbar is now working and you can turn it on under preferences.
Another useful source for medication doses is [5]. The nice thing about this one is we do not need to fully paraphrase as they are under a CC BY SA license. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:44, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Doc James yes the other source is useful as well, will paraphrase more, Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:50, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. I will eventually go through and double check everything :-) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 21:17, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Peritoneal dialysis

seems out of place on the essential list(IMO)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 18:34, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa the item on the list is Intraperitoneal dialysis solution which is included within peritoneal dialysis thus why it is there.
By the way you want to use this source https://www.whocc.no/atc_ddd_index/
To add the DDDs to the items under "Other drugs / procedures" here WikiProjectMed:Translation_task_force/RTT(Simplified)L Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:28, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
thanks didn't notice redirect(Happy Labor day), and yes will use https://www.whocc.no/atc_ddd_index/ for next column as this one is almost done...further Id like to thank you for the correction [6] Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 14:41, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

other drugs/procedures

per [7] added DDDs are given as fixed doses of 6 UD for throat preparations...however did not place in infobox (Doc James with a few exceptions the rest of other drugs/procedures were finished by you)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:13, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa yes :-) We now just need to switch the MSH instances to the WHO ref for the Essential Medicines. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:24, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
yes--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:45, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

this gives [8] 500 U , yet the same ATC code B02BD02 gives nothing at [9]..? (also added [10] let me know if ok)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 18:20, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Hum interesting. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:36, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
  • almost done …(wanted to clarify DDDs are not established for all medicines ….vaccines [11] ,as a result the DDD result was not placed in infobox, though it was placed in the body of article. The exception being BGC vaccine[12]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:59, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Doc James have checked and added references for Far-sightedness[15] will begin Spinal muscular atrophy--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 00:46, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

uptodate/other matters

are we accepting/using[16]?...(BTW when I imported [17] I seem to have imported a couple of non-useful pages, should I export?)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 18:47, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa I generally avoid Uptodate as it is not possible to link to any specific version.
I think what you have imported is fine :-) Just got back form hiking and heading into a set of nights. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:34, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Doc James thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:50, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Done [18] (due to off-wiki [19] matter that has gradually improved, I should apologize for the extent of time taken to do '1 article', I will be starting Patellar tendinitis)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:37, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
No worries :-) User:Ozzie10aaaa Having been working on leads of articles again. Have done 36 as listed here WikiProjectMed:List so far. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 07:30, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
yes leads are very important, I expect to pick-up my pace --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:19, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
what I noticed about the prior 'gallery' for Rib fracture was that the images were too small, however your edit is an improvement, thanks--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:24, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa I think that is reasonable. Often stuff like this is defined early on before medication approval and dose not change much afterwards. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:48, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

    • User:Ozzie10aaaa I think so. The classification systems only come into play after the initial diagnosis has been made. And they are part of making a more specific diagnosis... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:51, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa The orthobullets are written by orthopods. If a better source contradicts anything would suggest we replace with the better source. I would consider this like emedicine or webmd, okish but happy for better sources to replace. But no need to remove and leave with no source. Thoughts? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:53, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

  • I am sorry to hear about the loss of a colleague editor. I don't recall crossing their path but understand how it is when one has co-authored together. I hope I am helping with editing and not causing confusion. Let me know either of you what I can help with, otherwise I'll assume to just carry on. BTW...patella fracture was more interesting than I thought it would be. Please check the cost of Itraconazole in the States- what dose is being referred to? User:Ozzie10aaaa you see the import tool?[36] You use the second box with "include all templates" and "assign edits to local users" on and "copy all history revisions" off. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Doc James yes thats what I did(see import log)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:57, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
BTW Ive added it to our current list as it was not there[37]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:34, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa I am only adding article to that list once the leads are a decent summary of the topic in question and thus ready to be translated. I keep a list of the articles I have yet to get to in my sandbox :-) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:59, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Cost graph

Doc James I'm done w/ "Cost/Prescription graph" [38] however Im going to go thru it again in case I missed something...one point I wanted to clarify, on some few occasions I have come across a graph that has no article here, so if it does in Wikipedia should I import the article for the graph?--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:00, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa sure lets import them all so we can add the graphs. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:57, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
ok--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 01:23, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

done

Doc James have finished graphs cost/prescription (having gone over twice), there are a few points below that remain, I will act on them as you indicate:

  • File:Methylcellulose4000MpaS[40] (ask Doc James?)
  • File:Nicotine costs (DrugStats).svg --> Nicotine replacement therapy (graph does not indicate 'replacement therapy')?
  • File:NicotinePolacrilex costs (DrugStats).svg from Nicotine polacrilex[41] is it worth importing, its quite a small stub?
  • add Polyvinyl alcohol[42] article for the corresponding graph cost/prescription[43],[44]?(how would a prescription graph work for this article?)
  • AscorbicAcidPolyethyleneGlycol3350PotassiumChlorideSodiumAscorbateSodiumChlorideSodiumSulfate not certain what this is?(source[45] indicates [46] but another graph clearly indicates [47])
  • when I imported Adderall this[48] was imported with it, I tried to undue/rollback but it indicated ... 'Revision we are reverting to is identical to current revision'
graphs (showing only cost) do not have a wikipedia article/ as best I searched

...above points will be dealt with again as you indicate,(in terms of the graphs listed above while its possible I may have missed one, I did go over them at least twice) thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:34, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa this first one pertains to this page.[49]... Done (to be frank the '4000MpaS' should be placed in the infobox as a synonym)
If you look at the source for nicotine[50] under brandnames it gives you examples. So yes this is NRT... Done
Will look at the rest shortly... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:54, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
Would add the cost of "Nicotine polacrilex" to the NRT page. I would suggest merging nicotine polacrilex to NRT but thats just me. Doc James (talk · contribs email) 03:01, 12 April 2021 (UTC)...yes, that is a good idea, will do--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:15, 12 April 2021 (UTC) Done
With respect to Polyvinyl alcohol it is used as a medical eye drop. That article could use the development of a section with respect to that. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:06, 12 April 2021 (UTC)...[51] ok--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:19, 12 April 2021 (UTC) Done
This AscorbicAcidPolyethyleneGlycol3350PotassiumChlorideSodiumAscorbateSodiumChlorideSodiumSulfate is a form of bowel prep. I would put the graph at Macrogol for now which is its main active ingredient. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:08, 12 April 2021 (UTC)...Polyethylene Glycol3350?--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:33, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes it is another formulation of PEG3350. So should go at that page with the other graphs on the stuff. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:36, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
[52] Done --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:49, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
With respect to Adderall and Amphetamine yah Seppi used a fair bit of nesting of articles which is why importing one also imported the other. It is fine. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:11, 12 April 2021 (UTC)...I reverted[53]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:28, 12 April 2021 (UTC) Done

This "PolyethyleneGlycol3350WithElectrolytes costs" is another form of Macrogol. A bunch of the rest are combination meds. Maybe we will eventually get around to making articles on them. Doc James

yes thats what I was going to raise with you, some of these articles (combination meds) might be useful while their not in wikipedia they would be created here...--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:24, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
We could also simple create short stubs for all of them. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:27, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
I'll get on it tomorrow as soon as I finish the rest of the points above(BTW your right, short stubs for these would be very good)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 03:31, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
Have updated the infoboxe for combination medications Template:Infobox_drug#Combination_of_drugs_.28type.3Dcombo.29 Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:47, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
thanks, this should be relatively easy to do one by one(finished all the above though there is still one with a '?')--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:48, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

  • Doc James could you check list #30, #31, #32 and #33 breastfeeding infobox text to see if you agree, thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 22:08, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
    • This[54] says "This drug is considered compatible with breastfeeding by the WHO." Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 23:39, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
      • Adjusted a bit. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:02, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
        • [55]this ref(WHO) yes your right... [56]was looking at "The manufacturer makes no recommendation regarding use during lactation", and indicated during pregnancy "Use is not recommended unless clearly needed"...to be frank had not looked at 'comment section' therefore thank you (incorporating WHO ref could also be done[57])--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 00:13, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

  • Doc James for the 'Legal' entry in infobox Ive had trouble finding if these combination medicines in US/ other countries need a prescription, therefore in some instances Ive indicated the legal status of the medication by itself (such as Codeine), please advise if this is ok/or should be otherwise, thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 19:46, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Maybe just leave it bland if you cannot find a source for the combination User:Ozzie10aaaa. Some doses of acetaminophine with codeine are OTC. Will other require an rx. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:34, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
      • ok, for some combo/meds it does give[58] but it is US only, for others [59],[60] indicate both prescription and OTC,--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:07, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Doc James Im done however this:

  • thank you (the #35 link above maybe this ISOPLATE ...however it doesnt offer a price either[67])--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:47, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Due to the mirroring/fork issue (answered at my talk aswell) Im doing any article (dermatology or other) that can benefit from images in their signs/symptoms section:

User:Ozzie10aaaa sounds great. Work on the currently existing articles here first. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Doc James, thank you, will be taking care of a couple of issues today(Saturday) will be back at it tomorrow (I dont think the forking issue will take long to figure out), Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:05, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
back...(BTW viral wart redirects to Wart so I included images from former into the later, Ozzie)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:52, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Great. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 01:29, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Doc James Im running into difficulty finding signs/symptoms images for articles(non forking) that are available, so in an effort to improvise/go forward Ive come across a few images[68] that can go elsewhere like diagnosis (for Hodgkin lymphoma) among a few others, should this not be ok Ill revert, let me know--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:15, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa yes that is great. Adding in images from radipaedia is also excellent :-)
DermNetNZ has their images better organized. You could start here[69] and than find the corresponding images on NC Commons.Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 01:00, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
Doc James, great link,it helps because its more organized in its search(and while Ive gone thru several letters and have found 2 articles Ive been able to add, most are still 'mirrored/forked' will continue with the link to facilitate what articles there are available but in an effort to be more productive will look to other image batches as well) thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:49, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
Yah Ryan said forking should be working soon... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:21, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

Okay made a few changes here Video:Neurofibromatosis. Have the video automatically placed in the infobox once finished. Added a bit about the spots on the iris. And updated a new copy. I think this is a great start. If we could add a few more pictures and thus make each section about half the size that would be great. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:28, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

          • User:Ozzie10aaaa appears the tool is not doing new article to video conversions. One can still update old ones. I have asked the programmers to look into it. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:12, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Fludrocortisone

Doc James, when I place the image for the above article in 'medical uses' it moves down to 'side effects' so I was forced to put it in 'additional images'??--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:01, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa Trimmed one of the drugboxes. Strange to have two. Image in question looks like it belongs here porencephalic cyst so moved it. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:06, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
it was from here [97] were Fludrocortisone was administered...--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:11, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
The caption however reads "computed tomography shows a porencephalic cyst in the left parieto-occipital and right frontal areas, showing the inserted cysto-parietal shunt." And this is what the CT shows. So though it fit best at the cyst page :-) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:17, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Doc James, yes your correct I was taking a second look and there's another image [98] (same article from Openi) which will do better on Fludrocortisone, thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:47, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

How to edit my userpage

I would like to edit my userpage, how can I do this? It says "You may not edit a mirrored page; it must be forked first." Yleventa2 (talk) 00:45, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

Sure have forked your user page. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:51, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
I would like the same and also curious about 'forking' setup, as I never came across it elsewhere in this way (counter intuitive not to have rights to edit ones own page - no?)...oherwise - thanks for having me! --Zblace (talk) 06:56, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
User:Zblace we are still building the technical side of things which is unfortunately moving slower than I hoped. Basically everything that is not brought overly locally is automatically mirrored from EN WP. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:40, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
OK - I just hope that is the only bias to EN ;-) --Zblace (talk) 10:16, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Back

User:Ozzie10aaaa not sure what you mean? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:42, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
the link to CDC images is not listed on main page (BTW Openi/NIH is not working for me, nothing comes up https://openi.nlm.nih.gov/faq) hence one of the reasons I went to CDC link, Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 16:57, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa so all the CDC stuff is openly licensed so can go on Commons rather than NC Commons... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:29, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
ok (I had already done[99]) I'll put the rest to Commons,Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:40, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
  • Openi is up again [100], however in the few days I was using CDC (above) I also found [101] to be a good source as long as one identifies the source (unless its just an image of a medication or similarly simple), Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:02, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Great User:Ozzie10aaaa. One needs to be a careful with [102] as they are a little sloppy with their licenses.
This for example is my image https://search.creativecommons.org/photos/3e36d0c6-4c8d-40e7-ae67-6d96a4e7f8d7 Yet they do not attribute me which means they are in breach of my license.
And many of their images are like this. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:13, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Doc James, I was unaware of this, thank you for bringing it to my attention(I'll therefore stick to Openi), Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:50, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa whatever source you use, you need to be a little careful :-) Most of this databases are build by algorisms that are not that smart... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:44, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
ok--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:59, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

  • Doc James, while I mostly understand [103] ,the article[104] , and your apprehension of the image in question...indication via this review[105](Google search) is that this is not a new topic...--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:20, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Similar text

James, when I made this edit[109] today I noticed the source Dubey, R. C. (2014). Advanced Biotechnology. S. Chand Publishing. p. 361. ISBN 978-81-219-4290-4. Retrieved 22 January 2022....I found to be very similiar to the article, opinion?--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 20:22, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa What is the text that is similar in both places? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
compare [110] and [111] 1) at the beginning of subsection Secondary antibody and 2) further down same subsection where it reads "a third alternative" ( I changed the wording a little in the next edit, yesterday)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
User:Ozzie10aaaa Okay so our text was added in 2005[112] That book was published in 2014. So basically they copied and pasted from us.... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:01, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

Dimercaprol

User:Ozzie10aaaa Yes dimercaprol is used in Wilson's disease... But was unclear how that image related to dimercaprol? It related to Wilson disease so moved here. Wilson's_disease#Diagnosis Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:07, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
ok....(however,the idea was that the image[114] give the reader an idea of what the disease looks like (though the image does not depict the medication(Dimercaprol) effect on the disease)...--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:36, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Goes well on the Wilson's disease article... Yes this med is used for this disease but a little to tangential IMO. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:57, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa No worries. Best to use the "fork" button rather than the "import" function... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:50, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
good point...BTW Im almost done with Rift valley fever video, so I was wondering (I noticed your interested in translations[128]) I had done Video:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 , and Im interested in doing the article (due to the COVID-19) in es and fr, so the question is (1) can the es and fr article be imported and (2) does video wiki artificial voice do fr and es ([129] I noticed the top right menu offers different landuages)?,Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 19:40, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Okay so you are wanting to translate the Video into ES and FR? We have VideoWiki working in both those languages.
We do not have MDWiki in other languages and can simple put those in Wikipedia in those languages. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:25, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
James, the es/fr articles need a lot of work (but if we cant have them here, at MDWiki) then maybe best to wait at some other point, it might be good to consider in the future that some articles that stand out like COVID-19 pandemic(and related articles) might be better to have in more than just one language , Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:48, 18 March 2022 (UTC) (P.S. Translating titles of articles

Hi! When translating content from English into other languages, should one also translate the title? I began work on the Cardiomyopathy article, so should I just transliterate the medical terms and the title or should I translate them as well? MxYamato (talk) 09:55, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

User:MxYamato I am not sure. I think the custom depends on the language. What term is most commonly used in the target language? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:10, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
I think I will translate what when translated makes sense to the layman, and transliterate the rest. One thing I noticed is that translations into Oriya by one of the translators includes the infobox in English without translation, see [154]. Is there any consensus or precedent in this regard? Also, MDWiki includes things like the prices of medication, and this sort of information is not acceptable on some Wikipedias. So, I suppose the translation needs to take these into account? If so, could you please other such similiar things to keep note of while translating from MDWiki to WMF projects?MxYamato (talk) 10:59, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
The infobox should generally be translated. The translation tool does not support that very well which is why I think Subas does often do that. It is only EN WP that sometimes doesn't want prices but often contains prices, not aware of other languages position on this. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:21, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

NARWHAL

Howdy :) I'm organizing North American projects + organizations on Meta so we can figure out who might be interested in / benefit from a hub. Simplifying the process of simple technical + translation tasks (both sourcing people + overhead) feels like a challenge we all share. Could you take a look and tell me what I'm missing? Warmly, Sj (talk) 23:37, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Thanks User:Sj. We do not see ourselves as particularly tied to North America with less than half our board located in that jurisdiction. We are however open to collaboration with other movement entities in NA. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:35, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
That makes sense. How do you feel about peer support for non-geographic groups -- should there be a non-geographic hub? I appreciate the spirit of hubs as wheel-greasers and every project having support from at least one such... Sj (talk) 16:33, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Would be good to have a hub that is not geographically based. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 22:50, 22 June 2022 (UTC)

User:Ozzie10aaaa Perfect. Well done. It seems like the issue is the auto upload to Commons. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:50, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Listeriosis and other

  • Doc James, I realize your busy however should you have the time to look at Listeriosis specifically subsection Classification, under Diagnosis. I've gone thru it a few times and would prefer a second opinion on that subsection(please trim or add as you see fit in this subsection-text, references, or anything that may not be objective), thank you as always,Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 14:25, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

    • Looks like the license is "Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited." so could go on Wikimedia Commons. But either way looks good. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 21:42, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Yah so
1) Used firefox with the VideoHelper extension
2) Visited the journal page in question and downloaded the MP4
3) Used these apps[162] to convert the video from MP4 to WebM
4) Uploaded to NC Commons.

IBS

Doc James, thank you for edit[164]...while I'm not saying IBS is a diarrheal disease when I placed OWID[165] it does seem to be caused by such per Barbara, Giovanni; Grover, Madhusudan; Bercik, Premysl; Corsetti, Maura; Ghoshal, Uday C.; Ohman, Lena; Rajilić-Stojanović, Mirjana (1 January 2019). "Rome Foundation Working Team Report on Post-Infection Irritable Bowel Syndrome". Gastroenterology. 156 (1): 46–58.e7. doi:10.1053/j.gastro.2018.07.011. ISSN 0016-5085. Retrieved 1 December 2022. (there are more sources available), hence the reason for the graphs placement ,Ozzie--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:18, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!

Methinks I see an heavenly Host
Of angels on the wing;
Methinks I hear their cheerful notes,
So merrily they sing.

Let all your fears be banished hence,
Glad tidings I proclaim;
For there's a Savior born today
And Jesus is his name.

Lay down your crooks and quit your flocks,
To Bethlehem repair;
And let your wandering steps be squared
By yonder shining star.

Seek not in courts or palaces;
Nor royal curtains draw;
But search the stable,
See your God extended on the straw.

Then learn from hence, ye rural swains,
The meekness of your God,
Who left the boundless realms of joy,
To ransom you with blood.

The master of the inn refused
A more commodious place;
Ungenerous soul of savage mold
And destitute of grace.
