Not MDD and Not IUCN Valid. Shouldn't be displayed in the template?. It is not displayed in the genus page. The MDD Version V.1.10 (and earlier versions) tentatively treats orangiae as a junior synonym of Mus minutoides.[1] with the Taxonomy notes section mentioning :

"[M. minutoides] tentatively includes orangiae, although it may still be a distinct species pending genetic studies"

The IUCN had this to say in their latest assessment of M. minutoides:

"This species forms and unresolved species complex with Mus minutoides in East Africa and Central Africa."[2]

Pretty sure they meant forms "an" instead of "and" Gimly24 (talk) 15:24, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
