Statistics

"The mortality rate of basal-cell and squamous-cell carcinoma is around 0.3%, causing 2000 deaths per year in the US."- no citation on this (the citation for the next sentence appears to be for the statistic on melanoma only)[1]). Numerous sites on the internet state that there are around 2000 non-melanoma skin cancer deaths in the US each year, and cancer.org notes that 5.4 million basal and squamous cell skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the US. That gives a mortality rate of around 0.04%, almost 10 times lower. Any reason why the text should not be updated to reflect this? Gzabers (talk) 08:45, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lung melanoma

Originally diagnosed as melanoma in the lung. Latest PET scan shows a new area of concern on chest wall. Surgery now ruled out and am referred to dermatology for skin cancer. Inspection shows no melanoma on skin. 2A02:C7E:3232:7100:5D0F:2FE9:B8F5:CB7F (talk) 14:50, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
