Merger?

I think that this should be merged with Nurse Matt 16:32, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)edseds

US centric

This article refers exclusively to the U.S. . A more global perspective is required . All nurses in the U.K. on qualification take the title Registered Nurse. Can some information be added referring to role of the R.N. in the U.K. , and other parts of the world where the title exists.

Update

There is a stat that talks about "by 2005". This is now outdated. Can anyone update ?

yes a registered nurse make alot of money

registered nurse

hi i had a couple of questions i am intrested in becoming a registered nurse but i dont know how to go about making it happen i dont know what coursesdick sucker dont know how long it takes to get what i need to become an rn do, do rn's work a lot of hours, whats the pay. i would like to work for labor & delivery or neonatal icu. —Ya all you have to do is go to google and type in RN and it will help you with all you need

Becoming an RN

If you do a good search in a search engine you will find nursing schools that will tell you what the entrance requirements are. I am from the UK so I don't have a clue about the American system. Panthro 11:12, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalisation.

Shouldn't the title registered nurse be in lower case? See District nurse, Health visitor. Panthro 15:13, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Yes it should. The capitalisation rules can be found here, and state that the capitalised title chould be used when adressing a specific person, or to the profession as a whole. It should also be caps when used in a signature line..For example....."Nurse Marcum, Please prepare to defibilate the patient" Or as in "L. Marcum, Registered Nurses". Most other situations require it to be treated as a regular noun.

Hope this helps.

Bit late, as I changed it to Registered nurse a while ago, but thanks anyway. Panthro 22:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm working on the "Critical Care Nurse" artical, and I am having trouble with the format...Can you help me? I have a lot to share, but am relativly new to wikipedia. I'd really appriciate that. --LucasRN 23:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: edits

Hi all. I modified this page and removed this line Ashley A. is the BEST registered nurse in Virginia and even the world. She makes her husband and her daughter very proud. Not to knock on Ashley A, i'm sure that she is a very good nurse, but it doesn't exactly meet the objectivity standards we strive for here. LucasRN 17:29, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I concur as I am the best nurse in the world. How dare she :P Panthro 23:07, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Headline text

I think that u should show al the things they are resonpensible for and how much money it costs and how much the learning will cost and how long it takes to become this RN —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.32.211 (talkcontribs)

Bursary

Under the pre-registration tag for the UK, it states

"Diploma students in England receive a non-means-tested bursary of around £6000 per year (with additional allowances for mature students or those with dependent children)..."

However, I think with the introduction of the Age Discrimnation Act from the EU in 2007, this was revised by the NHS, as allowing more money depending on the age ran foul with teh act. I haven't got any definite links, so if someone could do the 'search that'd be great, otherwise I'll just do it when I have more spare time. :) Londonsista (talk) 20:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

does a registered nurse only have to do a minium of a 78week course to become a midwife? nd do registered nurses have to give needles? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.184.169 (talk) 08:53, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing to the Registered Nurse Page

I am sorry if any of my editing is incorrect in format, I am trying to get the hang of it. I don't feel that I am qualified enough to even be editing this page. I am being forced to do so if I wish to receive a good grade in my English 101 class. Please forgive me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stacey.trail (talkcontribs) 04:30, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

External Link

I'd like to submit a page I created titled "How to Become a Registered Nurse" for consideration as part of the Registered Nurse wiki. It was removed earlier because I added it without context in the "External Links" section -- but the research is accurate, and I think it adds value concerning the education process of becoming an RN. A more appropriate location for the external link would be under "Education," but the guidelines mostly discourage the placement of external links within the article itself.

The link is here, I'll wait to see if anyone has any other recommendations as to its inclusion or exclusion. Thanks!

Tidying Up

Revisiting this article and will be cleaning up the language and fleshing it out a bit, adding some refs, etc. Please feel free to comment. Basie (talk) 17:46, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I want to make a point of not duplicating content that belongs in Nursing. I think that means this article ought to be relatively short, and we should avoid generalities like, "Registered nurses supervise the nursing care of clients." Basie (talk) 04:27, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New to Wiki!

I am currently working on an assignment for an English class which requires us to contribute to an article. I plan on contributing to this article and add more detail in regards to the income of registered nurses in the United States. Kjmurphy419 (talk) 17:37, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Issues Within Registered Nursing

I added a new section here talking about the Issues Within Registered Nursing because there was only a section about the Benefits of Registered Nursing. I thought this was important because there are common issues that many nurses deal with in their everyday work environment and it is good for people to be aware of that.
