Talk:Protamine sulfate

Copyright issue

Was looking at this edit[1] specifically this text:

"Protamine was originally isolated from the sperm of salmon and other species of fish, but is now produced primarily through recombinant biotechnology."

You added this as a source and it supported use prefect (actually too perfectly) https://www.drugbank.ca/drugs/DB09141

So I was checking copyright issues but it appears we contained the text back in 2009. And our text has altered through time.[2]

So it appears drugbank.ca is copy and pasting from Wikipedia. Looking here they do reference us. But they are not releasing the content under a compatible license.

Will follow up. We should probably not be using Wikipedia to reference Wikipedia. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:07, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Doc James, you should consider talking to someone about that ;-) Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:01, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes thanks Drugbank.ca says they are working on fixing the issues. They run fairly deep so will take some time they say. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 13:24, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear it. I liked the Slate-article. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:26, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

History

I have added some historical notes to Friedrich Miescher (diff) that might be of use in this article. doi:10.1016/j.bja.2018.01.023 cites the historical papers. The paper describing heparin reversal is here: doi:10.1016/S0021-9258(18)74257-9 JFW | T@lk 17:49, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
