Poor sourcing regarding laws

More precisely, there is not a single source that pins down what law or practice in what country said that pregnancy from rape means no rape. Definitely too weak for this article. --109.192.195.210 (talk) 19:17, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

When the rapist is a woman?

Pregnancy from rape can also occur when the rapist is a woman and the victim is a man. See Hermesmann v. Seyer and also [1][2][3], . Should this be covered? 86.146.244.1 (talk) 21:14, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There was no "rape" in that case, statutory, legal, or otherwise. The only thing the juvenile girl was charged with (as a juvenile) was "contributing to the misdeeds of a child" or some such rubbish. Moreover, as per the Kansas court, only in the context of criminal proceedings would the boy be deemed unable to consent due to his age; in civil proceedings there is no minimum "age of consent", and the court in that civil proceeding deemed that he in fact had consented. For all these reasons, it is a clear violation of BLP policy to label the woman who was involved in that case a "rapist" - if it's not full libel, it's bordering dangerously close to it. Men can be raped by women. If a woman can rape a man, she can get pregnant as a result of rape. Why don't you think there should be a section on this?
PS. If an adult has sex with a minor, that is statutory rape and the perpetrator is a rapist. Another of the linked examples involved a 34 year old woman and a 15 year old boy. It doesn't matter if the child supposedly consented.

its astonishing that the by far greatest mass rape with millions of pregnancies is not mentioned with a word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.230.144.236 (talk) 07:52, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are you talking about rape by Soviet Forces? I think that probably should be added since so many people were involved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whipassmt (talkcontribs) 19:11, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Undue emphasis on Todd Akin

It seems to me that too much of this article, specifically the lede and the sources are about, or reference, remarks made by Congressman Akin. I don't think this article should have so much focus on this one incident. I believe we can and should remove some of the sources in the references that are primarily about the Akin incident and give less coverage to this in the lede ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whipassmt (talkcontribs) 19:14, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
