• Will attempt to find images that address diagnostic criteria for acute mediastinitis.

12/14/18 - 12/21/18

• Edit Chronic Mediastinitis sub-section and add images to subsection.
• Complete citations and references.
• I would like to wrap project up by editing the introduction/overview at the top of the wikipage that accurately summarizes page and what information can be found on page.

Hi! Thanks for posting your work plan! It looks you have been focused on editing the Acute Mediastinitis section and organizing the page so far. So I will focus my comments on that. -I like how you organized the page into different sections for acute and chronic mediastinitis. I think that is a good way to think about it. I also like the images that are currently on the page. -In general I think that this page suffers from some doctor talk and non-neutral talk. An example is where the page states that descending necrotizing mediastinitis is “a particularly devastating polymicrobial infection involving the neck and below to the mediastinum.” I think using devastating is editorializing and that it’s possible that a non-medical audience may not be familiar with the term polymicrobial. -There are also other medical terms that I think the general public is not familiar with that could be either simplified to other terms or linked to their wikipedia pages. For example, “mortality rate” and “septic shock” both have their own pages on wikipedia but are not yet linked. -Although from the edit history it looks like you added a few citations, I can only see one so far. I think that the sections that you have written and plan to write would benefit from more citations. -From your work plan it looks like you are planning on focusing on the Types section and the Lead. If you are able to find a general review of mediastinitis that covers diagnosis and treatment, I think adding even briefly to those sections and adding citations would really improve the page.
