Wikimedia Brasil and other former chapters

Hi. I just redirected Wikimedia Brasil to this article, but Wikimedia Brasil is not currently mentioned in the article. According to m:Wikimedia Brasil, it's a former Wikimedia chapter. Is that right? Are there are other former chapters we should be listing here? --MZMcBride (talk) 19:06, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MZMcBride. I inquired into this matter a little more closely with AffCom. While a resolution was initially passed for Wikimedia Brazil to form as a recognized using the bylaws approved in September 2008, the chapter was unable to form and therefore is not considered to have been a chapter due to never becoming incorporated. As for the potential of others, there have been no chapters previously that are not currently listed as chapters on the affiliates chapters portal I am not sure that this fully answers your question as far as how it should be noted on this page, but hopefully helps to clarify the history. ″台灣維基媒體協會″ and ″中華民國維基媒體協會″

Wikimedia Taiwan's Chinese name is "中華民國維基媒體協會", not "台灣維基媒體協會" . --S099001 (talk) 08:17, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
