Professional organizations??

Since when learned societies are considered to be professional organizations? In such way learned societies could be considered as trade unions which is in a way another term of professional organizations (in its essence). Is there no difference between professional and scholar? Why are there those two terms if learned society is professional organization? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 15:45, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
