Article is transphobic

Why is there no mention of hormone replacement therapy used in transgender people I use HRT as I am transgender — Preceding unsigned comment added by Transgenderkai (talkcontribs) 09:15, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Transgenderkai: I don't know much about this topic, but I think Transgender hormone therapy contains what you're looking for. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talkCL) 09:30, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CX Zoom this article is confusing. as it currently stands, there's no link to the transgender hormone therapy page. it's not clear that one exists without coming to the talk page 98.116.173.242 (talk) 01:06, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is right in the hat note of the article, which links to Transgender Hormone Therapy. Raladic (talk) 01:49, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Raladic it was confusing to me because it appears past the first paragraph. 98.116.173.242 (talk) 22:48, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hormone replacement therapyHormone replacement therapy (menopausal) – The current wiki page titled "Hormone replacement therapy" is primarily focused on the use of HRT in menopausal women. To better serve readers and improve clarity, I propose moving the page to "Hormone replacement therapy (menopausal)" to clearly differentiate it from HRT used for other purposes, such as transgender hormone therapy. By doing so, readers will more easily find the information they need on a specific topic without confusion. Born25121642 (talk) 02:58, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • There is already Hormone therapy, which disambiguates all related topics, and this article deals specifically with replacement (boosting to previous levels), whereas Transgender hormone therapy is a different form of supplementation. Since the issue here appears to arise from the fact that treatments that have been labeled as for "hormone replacement therapy" can also be applied to other cases, I don't think there is an underlying problem with the current title of this article. There is also a preexisting hatnote at the top of the page. Dekimasuよ! 04:34, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    Understood. Born25121642 (talk) 04:39, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support alternate move Would menopausal hormone therapy not be a less clunky name? Seems like the current proposed name would fly in the face of WP:NATURAL, though I agree it should be moved somehow as there is also androgen replacement therapy that is a form of hormone. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 13:45, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose: AFAICT, this is the primary use of the term "Hormone replacement therapy" in English, so I see no need for disambiguation. Unless evidence can be shown otherwise, other uses of the term can be addressed by a hatnote. — BarrelProof (talk) 14:17, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pageviews show that several possible primary topics are a relatively even split with some going above others at times. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 15:26, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pageviews can help us see which topics people seem most interested in reading about, but they don't tell us whether people are primarily referring to those topics as "Hormone replacement therapy". — BarrelProof (talk) 01:04, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - this is the primary meaning, and the alternative given is cludgy. Note that this is hormone replacement therapy - replacement meaning restoring what was once present, so in relation to transgender therapy, that term seems like a misnomer. -- Netoholic @ 20:59, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I see no need to inject a parenthetical disambiguator into this article's title. The status quo seems perfectly fine. Rreagan007 (talk) 05:15, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For what is worth, I agree that menopausal hormone therapy, suggested by Zxcvbnm, would be a better name. It is clear enough and has a good amount of use by RS. I'm just not in a rush to make a move discussion right now; tag me in if someone started a new one. --Artoria2e5 🌉 11:59, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
