I added a citation for its peroxide reaction but am having trouble finding a good source for its reaction with nitric acid. It's referenced in at least two U.S. patents (http://www.google.com/patents/US2395773 and http://www.google.com/patents/US2525252), but I'm unsure if they're good enough sources. Medicinal uses section

The claims in this section lack medically-appropriate reliable sources and when I took a quick look I found a Cochrane review PMID 17943785 that seems to suggest the evidence is dubious at best. Any sources to support the claims? If not, I suggest that this section be scaled back considerably. -- Scray (talk) 04:55, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seems illogical to use this drug as a bladder medication since the formaldehyde is a known carcinogen. It kills bacteria yes, but inflames tissues as its chemical action is not specific to bacteria, the mechanism of action of its carcinogenic potential comes from point mutations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.78.8.171 (talk) 02:03, 10 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Camping

We avoid, by policy, giving advice or "tips" and the space allocated in the articles is roughly matched to importance. So while campers might like this stuff, the rest of the world would classify, probably, your application as minor. Use in the final rinse of photographic film

This chemical is sometimes used in the final rinse of film to remove other chemicals, and increase the longevity of the film. My explanation may not be very long or in-depth, however, I am unsure of the exact process. This may be a niche application, however, I think it should be included in the article.
