Could it also be caused in puberty when new hairs are just sprouting and so are short and may curl back? Does it occur like a couple of days after exposure to HIV, or after a long time?

Treatment
- Hot, moist compresses may promote drainage of the affected follicles. Treatment may include antibiotics applied to the skin (mupirocin) or taken by mouth (dicloxacillin), or antifungal medications to control the infection.[2] Graceconcepcionr (talk) 06:53, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
