Psychological in nature

"The cause of the phenomenon is psychological in nature".

If the cause is unknown, how is this statement factual? Am I missing something? For many diseases, stress is a compounding factor, but in this case, without solid evidence, I suggest we remove this hypothesis. Enigma55 (talk) 02:01, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Enigma55, just saw that sentence myself and removed it. Schazjmd (talk) 00:33, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We have to drop the conspiratorial section

I just deleted the section referencing conspiratorial "energy weapons" as a possible cause of EHS. Source [2] places the first recorded case of EHS to the 19th century, so this entire conspiracy speculation is not only distracting, but potentially harmful. Reassurance as treatment

The treatment section currently says that reassurance and education can reduce frequency of episodes, citing [4], but from what I can tell, the only statement relating to reassurance as treatment is "To date, there have been no clinical trials for EHS treatment. In the majority of cases, firm reassurance about the benign nature of EHS seems appropriate and drug therapy is not necessary." Which to me sounds like they are just saying to reassure patients so they aren't worried somethings wrong, not that it actually reduces the frequency of episodes.
