Xience

Should we move the stuff about Xience V into a new Xience V article ? If we do it would be easier to expand it without overwhelming this Everolimus article. Rod57 (talk) 00:46, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Everolimus Structure

I believe that there is an error in the structure shown for everolimus. I believe that the methyl group on the ethylene bridge between the lactone and the cyclohexyl ring should be in the R configuration (solid wedge).

Yes, you're right. I'll correct the structure as soon as possible. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:10, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Novartis investigating use as anti-aging drug

". . . Novartis has completed a successful pilot trial examining its cancer drug everolimus as a potential treatment to reverse immunosenescence, or the gradual deterioration of the immune system that occurs with age and is a major cause of disease and death."

(Similar content appeared in the Baltimore Sun for 11/13/2014 in an article headlined "Drugmakers look to push bounds of aging." Couldn't find that online 11/13; sometimes articles from the Sun are posted online a couple of days after their appearance in the hard-copy newspaper.)

Adverse reactions

They seem common and often serious so I've added a report from one trial but really it needs a more comprehensive summary eg from some reviews covering a wider range of trials and conditions. - Rod57 (talk) 00:41, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Specification on typography

Just wished to enquire why some brand names are italicized and some bold. Zuke Denvar (talk) 04:19, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Anti-Aging feature of this drug deserves more recognition

It's a highly significant advancement in medicine, and can cause a 440% lifespan increase in mice and its suggested this is the case for humans too. doi:10.1007/s11357-020-00274-1 p1139. It should be the most significant part of the page in my opinion. It has attention from harvard medical school doi:10.1016/j.cmet.2014.01.001 and its recognised by the ageing institute. this is well worth having a vaccine style rollout with. 141.195.131.11 (talk) 03:18, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
