Naming conventions

we need to change dressler's syndrome to just plain dressler syndrome. This is according to the new naming conventions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.247.57.79 (talkcontribs) 16:58, November 22, 2008‎

Post MI pericarditis

There are 2 types of post MI pericarditis, the first is due to pericardial extension of epicardial inflammation, and occurs mostly in transmural infarcts. This type occurs within the first few days. The second type, Dressler's, is due to autoimmune antigens released from dead muscle, and occurs about 2 weeks after an MI. My source is Pathophysiology of Heart Disease by Lilly. dressler's treatment

The recommendation of colchicine for dressler syndrome is simply wrong, and needs to be corrected. The COPE trial demonstrated that hi-dose aspirin is the treatment of choice post-MI, and colchicine efficacy could not be established.
