The male condom is rolled onto an erect penis before intercourse and works by forming a physical barrier which blocks semen from entering the body of a sexual partner.[1][2] Male condoms are typically made from latex and, less commonly, from polyurethane, polyisoprene, or lamb intestine.[1] Male condoms have the advantages of ease of use, ease of access, and few side effects.[1] Individuals with a latex allergy should use condoms made from a material other than latex, such as polyurethane. 2001:8003:2352:1300:C79:E317:9969:F8F8 (talk) 11:06, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sizing?

It would be good to have a description of the proper method of measuring for condom size. Personally, I've recently discovered that I've been under the misconception that the size (eg. 50mm) is the diameter, but apparently it's half the circumference?

Application vs. foreskin

The text and illustration regarding putting on a condom makes no mention of how to manage the foreskin to prevent it from sliding back (uh, that is, forward) resulting in half the condom flopping about beyond the end of the penis. Somenoe please improve?

Unsourced material (criterion 2), and an abundance of WP:WTW (criterion 1b). Also, quality of prose is poor (lots of one-line paragraphs), and the history section is pretty much reliant on one source (possibly violating criterion 4). I should note that I think the medicine WikiProject perfectly capable of overcoming these issues, should they wish to. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:50, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming to Condom (External)

Hi all, I would like to propose that this page be renamed to "Condom (External)" to make it clear which type of condom this article focuses on. I am making a similar suggestion that the page currently titled "Female condom" be renamed to "Internal Condom". These terms (internal and external) are more medically accurate than male and female, since these devices can be utilized by all genders and sexes. In conjunction with this, I would plan to adjust wording within this article to predominantly use the terms internal and external. I am happy to explain this point further if there are any questions. Alternately, we could leave the title as is, and increase the size and scope of the Internal Condom section... Willmskinner (talk) 03:42, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
