Airbags

Don't airbags use sodium azide (NaN3)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.178.24.163 (talkcontribs) 04:07, 7 September 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the sodium azide is detonated with a small electrical charge and the airbag fills with nitrogen gas — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.252.224.12 (talkcontribs) 16:31, 10 November 2004 (UTC)[reply]

According to the page about airbags, sodium azide is no longer used as the chemical that sets off the airbag. Should this be changed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.31.145 (talk) 20:47, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub?

This article no longer looks very stub-like. Have removed it from the category. --Xanthine 21:43, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

I'm not sure if how the structure is shown is right. Look at this example of Sodium azide: http://www.chemblink.com/products/26628-22-8.htm — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Fwanksta (talkcontribs) 03:07, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure about the sodium form, but the experimentally determined crystal structure of azidothymidine (AZT) has the three nitrogens in a linear arrangement. Untitled

I'm not sure how to edit this, but I believe that each of the terminal nitrogen atoms would have a delta negative charge, instead of a full negative charge, since the molecule overall has a full negative charge and -1+-1 does not equal -1. I don't know how to change it in the picture, but it should be changed, I believe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.232.77.224 (talkcontribs) 05:46, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Split proposal

The article is pretty good. However, it seems likely to me that readers are either seeking info on organic or inorganic azides, not both. --Smokefoot (talk) 00:36, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
