This sentence is dubious and without reference: The aortic sinuses help in closure of the valve by creating backflow eddies. I would like to delete it. --Ekko 18:53, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is just getting worse: Opening of the aortic valves blocks coronary artery attachments, tranisiently reducing myocardial perfusion. ? I've learned that the reason for systolic non-flow in the coronaries is the elevated pressure in the myocardium, thus no pressure gradient between aorta and myocardium in early systole. And no pressure gradient => no flow. This is called extracoronary resistance. See a basic text as Berne & Levy: Cardiovascular Physiology. --Ekko 07:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Typo?

The sentence below looks like the word “stopping” should be “starting”. Right?

The aortic valve is the last structure in the heart the blood travels through before stopping the flow through the systemic circulation. 192.184.168.13 (talk) 06:40, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
