Smooth muscle hypertrophy

As status asthmaticus is an acute exacerbation of asthma it seems a bit strange that it's characterized by muscle hypertrophy as hypertrophy is (I believe) usually caused by chronic diseases... So in my opinion it would be perfectly logical that this hypertrophy is caused by the asthma itself, but less logical that the hypertrophy would be caused by this acute exacerbation. Let me emphasize once more that I'm not completely sure of this (I'd have changed the article if I was sure) ImaPseudonym (talk) 19:59, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Stuff left out

Ketamine is often used to induce anaesthesia if ventilation is required. This has bronchodilating properties. Furthermore, some volatile anaesthetic agents have useful properties for this. I'll see if I can find a source. JFW | T@lk 20:54, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
